The district of Kelheim is a consortium partner in the BMWK-funded SUE (Self-Driving Urban E-Shuttle) project. SUE develops an autonomous, street-legal electric shuttle for public transport. Operating at up to 50 km/h, it aims to reduce CO2, support the energy transition, and modernize mobility, especially in rural areas. Featuring redundant control systems and a 48V electric drive, SUE enhances safety, efficiency, and flexibility. A prototype will be tested in Kelheim, with industry partners ensuring successful implementation and adoption.
