APIX2 - Automotive SerDes Product Family
The APIX2 technology, integrated in INAP375T transmitter and INAP375R receiver devices, offers high speed differential data transmission over a single twisted pair (STP) cable.
Based on current mode logic, the physical layer drives up to 12 meters of cable at 3Gbps.
At link level, APIX2 uses transmission frames, which are dynamically filled with either video, audio, GPIO or AShell data. This flexible configuration allows APIX2 to be optimized for various applications.
The automotive shell (AShell), a protection protocol for ASIL-conformal transmission of safety-relevant data, has been optimized in APIX2. AShell2 produces virtually no more overhead for error free data transmission, an innovation compared to other guard protocols.
APIX3 Automotive SerDes Product Family
The third generation APIX3 is targeted to address the enhanced requirements for Infotainment and Cockpit architectures in vehicles. Those architectures support multiple automotive UHD resolutions in car displays.
The new APIX3 technology supports transmissions of up to 6 Gbps over one shielded twisted pair (STP) cable and up to 12 Gbps over a quad twisted pair (QTP) connection.
APIX3 offers a number of unique features for in-car video, such as:
Enables the transmission of multiple video channels on one connection (which supports advanced cockpit architectures);
Supports 100 Mbps Ethernet and other serial interface protocols;
Provides advanced diagnostic capabilities, including cable monitoring, for preventative detection of cable degradation.
It supports STP and QTP cable media. It provides scalable bandwidth, which means it can be used from entry-level to high-end systems.
The APIX3 technology is backward compatible with APIX2. It provides full duplex communication channels, and an active equalizer to automatically adjust to transmission lines individually, thus allowing plug and play connectivity. It also provides compensation for cable aging and temperature
APXpress - Super High Speed Automotive Data Interconnect
The APXpress is a high-speed automotive data interconnect technology that decouples the SERDES or link bandwidth from the (aggregate) bandwidth of the virtual data paths. It can support up to 128 completely independent data channels. The latency of each virtual data path is controllable and deterministic. The bandwidth can be dynamically allocated for each channel.
APXpress is scalable in terms of data serialization and works with link data rates of 4/8/16 and 32 Gbps. APXpress is the foundation technology for high-speed data communication for automotive. Applications to transfer Video, Audio and Data in formats through standardized interfaces, primarily in ADAS and Infotainment systems.
ILaS and ISELED - Light & Sensors Products
Implementing all HW functions for fully SW defined lighting applications, the ISELED/ILaS technology provides manufacturer-calibrated ISELED Smart RGB LEDs for automotive grade RGB or tunable white LED applications. The user simply sends a digital color value to the addressable LEDs, which autonomously performs all color mixing and temperature compensation. Cabled connectivity between lighting boards or directly cabled single ILaS LEDs are supported by the ILaS transceiver, including very power efficient DC/DC conversion from 12V battery voltage as well as communication resilience to board power failures. Synchronized streaming of lighting information from a central ECU is supported via software free Ethernet bridges.
