Flexible Busbars for Electrification, Robotics, and Autonomous Systems
SCHERDEL's flexible busbars enable efficient, reliable power distribution in the world's most demanding electrified applications.
Engineered from multilayer copper or aluminum conductors, they combine high-current capability with exceptional flexibility to compensate for vibration, thermal expansion, and assembly tolerances.
Applications include electric vehicles, humanoid robotics, autonomous drones, battery energy storage systems, AI data centers, charging infrastructure, industrial automation, and advanced power electronics.
Supported by SCHERDEL's global engineering and manufacturing network, our solutions help customers reduce weight, improve reliability, simplify assembly, and accelerate the transition toward smarter, more electrified technologies.
Engineering Services & Numerical Simulation for Intelligent Electrification
SCHERDEL combines advanced engineering services, virtual product development, simulation, testing, and manufacturing expertise to accelerate innovation for autonomous mobility, electric vehicles, robotics, drones, power electronics, energy storage systems, and next-generation intelligent machines.
Our engineering teams support customers from concept development through industrialization, leveraging advanced numerical simulations to analyze structural behavior, thermal performance, electrical characteristics, fluid flow, manufacturing processes, and system integration before physical prototypes are built.
Through AI-supported simulation methods, virtual validation, and deep material and manufacturing expertise, SCHERDEL helps optimize performance, weight, reliability, cost, and product lifetime while significantly reducing development risk and time-to-market.
As both an engineering partner and global manufacturer, we seamlessly bridge simulation, prototyping, testing, and high-volume production to deliver production-ready solutions for the most demanding electrified applications.
HYCOOL – Thermally Conductive Plastics
HYCOOL is SCHERDEL’s thermally conductive plastic solution for thermal management applications, designed to replace traditional aluminum components with lightweight, injection-molded alternatives. It enables greater design flexibility, integrated cooling functions, and reduced system cost while delivering up to 35% weight reduction, 20% cost savings, and 50% energy savings compared with conventional metal solutions. HYCOOL is suitable for battery cooling, power electronics, onboard chargers, fuel cells, heat exchangers, and heat pump systems, with support from concept development through serial production.
Openingsystems for autonomous vehicles / Tailgate Assist Systems
Since Scherdel’s founding, springs and wireforming has been our expertise. However, the offerings provided in opening systems demonstrate not just our proficiency in spring design, but our expertise in the application of springs into larger functional systems as well. Most passive system offerings are designed to account for active system integration from other suppliers. This exemplifies Scherdel’s attitude toward collaborative design from the start. We carry this attitude though the full design process to determine the most effective, wholistic solutions wile ensure design integrity. From unique problems to custom solutions, Scherdel continues to support OEMs globally in closures developments.
Robotic Subcomponents
Scherdel goes beyond specialization by offering a wide variety of unique products relevant to robotics applications. With market leading spring development capabilities, we support all manner of wire and strip forming components. Custom in-house tools allow customers to feel highly confident in their spring design prior to testing. Additionally, our unique Hycool offers reduced mass thermal regulation capabilities to cool actuators and minimize system weight. Hycool also benefits from efficient mass production materials and processing to reduce cost as well. Scherdel also offers more than just springs capable of deflecting in demanding applications, but circuit boards as well: the Flex Board Assembly. With products ranging from structural to thermal to electrical, Scherdel provides solutions for a wide array of robotics challenges.
