Products & Services
FAULHABER is a leading supplier in the area of high precision miniature and micro drive systems.
FAULHABER offers the most extensive range of miniature and micro drive technologies available from a single source worldwide. From high performance DC Motors, BLDC Motors, to Linear Motors, and Stepper Motors, each drive is designed to achieve maximum performance in minimum dimensions and weight. Matching precision gearheads, encoders, linear components and drive electronics are available to complete the system.
Humanoid Robotics demands dexterity in motion
The hand is perhaps the most utilized human tool. Its dexterity, fine motor skills and sensory feedback make it the interface between the body and the environment. Reproducing this fascinating functionality in an artificial hand is one of the greatest challenges in robotics, and at the same time one of its most difficult tasks. Whether in automation or medical robotics, industrial applications or modern prosthetics - robotic hands are expected to do what the human hand has perfected over thousands of years: coordinate complex movements, use different gripping techniques, react to external stimuli and precisely use force. It's not just about shape and mobility, but also about miniature motors, intelligent control and the ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions.
Micro motors from FAULHABER
Electric motors convert electric current into mechanical power – they are therefore also referred to as electromechanical transducers. As a specialist for small and miniature drive systems, FAULHABER offers a broad range of micro motors. This type of motor allows a particularly high power density with low weight and minimal installation size.
Drive Electronics
DC motor controllers from FAULHABER
In most cases, an electronic controller is needed to operate a micromotor. It allows the drive power to be precisely controlled, as it is required by the application. DC motor controllers from FAULHABER ensure especially efficient operation as well as high precision when implementing the specified values, such as speed and position. They are available as speed controllers, motion controllers and stepper controllers. Their function is optimized for combination with FAULHABER motors.
Precision Gearheads
Small gearboxes from FAULHABER
In many applications, it is useful or even necessary to mount a small gearbox between the motor and the point of power transfer. The high speed of the motor is converted to a lower speed on the application side through reduction. Using a gearhead, the available torque can be significantly increased and, at the same time, the movement more precisely controlled through the lower speed. The appropriate combination of motor and small gearbox opens countless possibilities for configuring the optimum drive for every application.
Linear actuators from FAULHABER
Linear actuators from FAULHABER
A linear actuator converts the rotational movement of a DC-motor into linear motion. Its purpose is to move objects backward and forward along a straight axis. Linear actuators from FAULHABER are characterized by their compact design. Depending on the version, they achieve peak values in terms of force and accuracy. They are suitable for applications where strong linear forces or an extremely high positioning accuracy are required in constrained spaces.
Encoders from FAULHABER
Encoders detect a rotary movement and use this to derive a measurement signal. The devices are used for speed control and for position determination. FAULHABER offers motor encoders with optical or magnetic measurement principle. In addition to precision and robustness, both variants are characterized by their compact design.
